Program Accreditation History
Initial Accreditation,
February 6, 2024 through February 28, 2034
On February 6, 2024, the ACAE Board of Directors, following the full review of the Profile Reports, Self-Study and Site Visit Report, voted to award the status of Accreditation for ten years to the Doctor of Audiology (AuD) Program at San José State University.
The Accreditation Commission recognized the compliance of three standards as program strengths:
- Standard 9: Equipment
- Standard 26: Integrated Learning
- Standard 34: Relationship Between Academic Programs & External Clinical Sites
The Commission noted five standards in Partial Compliance with a Plan of Action and Progress Report to be submitted by August 1, 2024, were requested for:
- Standard 6: Program Director
- Standard 8: Facilities
- Standard 23: Clinical Environments and Populations
- Standard 29: Number and Qualifications of Faculty
- Standard 30: Maintaining and Enhancing Faculty Qualifications
As of August 13, 2024, Standards 8, 29 and 30 were found to be In Compliance.
As of November 5, 2024, Standard 6 was found to be In Compliance.
Developing Status, August 5, 2019 to February 5, 2024
On August 5, 2019, the ACAE Board of Directors approved the Developing Status application submitted by San José State University. Developing Status allowed the San José State University to implement a Doctor of Audiology curriculum and to admit an initial class of students.
The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) Program at San José State University admitted its initial class of students in fall 2020.
